The prospects and opportunities for even closer cooperation between Bulgaria and the United States in the field of business were discussed at a meeting between entrepreneur Hristo Kovachki and Asa Hutchinson – former Governor of the State of Arkansas and an influential Republican politician, currently visiting Bulgaria.

Kovachki told the American guest that the implementation of joint projects and exchange of expertise with U.S. companies in the fields of new technologies and energy is of particular importance for many Bulgarian enterprises.  In a social media post, Kovachki thanked Hutchinson for the productive meeting. The Bulgarian businessman said it was an honor and a pleasure to speak with a person of such stature.

Mr. Hutchinson’s service to the entire American people seems to fully embody the meaning of Arkansas’ state motto, Regnat populus, or ‘The people rule.’ He is a person with an exceptional background and life journey, dedicated to the prosperity of the United States and the protection of both American and global security”, Hristo Kovachki stated.

During his visit to Bulgaria, Asa Hutchinson met with several representatives of the Bulgarian business community, as well as with the Bulgarian Minister of Interior, Daniel Mitov.

He has held exceptionally high positions in the field of security. From 2001 to 2003, he was the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and in 2003, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which was created after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
